Electrochemical Design Engineer - Golden, Colorado

As an Engineer at CoorsTek, you are responsible for designing, developing, and testing equipment, processes, and materials. This position will be located in Golden, CO.

Education, Training, and Skill Recommendations/Requirements: Bachelors degree in Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical
Engineering, or Material Science
Minimum of 3 years post-degree industrial experience in the design and manufacturing of electrochemical systems required


Day to Day:

Responsibility for the development, design, assembly, testing, analysis, and refinement of electrochemical systems to meet or exceed end-user expectations

Essential Functions:


Design electrochemical systems for efficient and effective manufacturing/assembly and high reliability

Develop and drive new ideas in electrochemical cells for our chosen markets

Supervise or lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business

Collaborate with customers, suppliers and CoorsTek entities such as Ceramatec and Research & Development

Responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications

Contribute to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional area of expertise

Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and program/contract commitments

Develop and execute action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments

Supervise, lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Limited business travel is expected for this job

Demonstrated project leadership experience, including successful track record of completing deliverables on schedule and on budget

Proven experience at translating new product innovations into reliable manufacturing processes

Knows and follows all safety requirements, including emergency evacuation; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to lead or supervisor. All employees will be responsible for knowing where non-hazardous waste collection containers are located and for putting non-hazardous wastes in appropriate containers
